MultiRoomViewing (MRV) - Whole Home DVR Service
Whole Home DVR Service is the official name for DirecTV's new Multi-room Viewing service that has now gone national and is available to all current subscribers. This service allows customers to playback their HD-DVR recordings on any other compatible and connected receiver in the house. Receivers should be connected via DECA to be officially supported by DirecTV.
Setup/Activation
When you call to add the DirecTV Whole Home DVR service to your account they will setup an installer visit to install the DECA modules on receivers and make sure your system is up to date for Whole Home DVR usage. For example, some installs may need older receivers replaced or dish components upgraded/replaced as a SWiM is required for DECA. Note that this install runs around $99 for equipment and $49 for the truck roll (installation) but covers all required equipment to get the Whole Home DVR service working on your account.| Whole Home DVR Compatible Receivers | |||

Usage

To access the recordings you simply use the Playlist as normal. All recordings are put into the Unified Playlist (UPL) and you can sort them as normal. If you have many receivers and a lot of recordings, you can press the yellow button and opt to view only one DVR's playlist at a time to make browsing easier.
